Maryland Steeplechase Racing on the Radio

Racing historian Mike Finney returned to 21st Century Radio on March 24th to preview Maryland’s upcoming race season, including the Steeplechase Races at review the Steeplechase Races at Elkridge-Harford Hunt Point to Point (4/6/13), My Lady’s Manor (4/13/13), Maryland Grand National (4/20/13), and the Maryland Hunt Cup (4/27/13).
We also revealed the truth behind the legend of the black American jockey Isaac Murphy (1861-1896), the first American jockey elected to Racing’s Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, New York, and only one of two black jockeys to have received this honor.

The Tea Party Movement was planned over a decade ago by groups with ties to the tobacco and fossil fuel industries.
A new study funded by the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health reveals that the Tea Party Movement was planned over a decade ago by groups with ties to the tobacco and fossil fuel industries. The movement was not a spontaneous populist uprising, but rather a long-term strategy to promote the anti-science, anti-government agenda of powerful corporate interests. The two organizations mentioned in the report, Americans for Prosperity and Freedomworks, used to be a single organization that was founded by the Koch brothers and heavily financed by the tobacco industry. These organizations began planning the Tea Party Movement over ten years ago to promote a common agenda that advocated market fundamentalism over science and opposed any regulation or taxation of fossil fuels and tobacco products.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Ravens’ Win

I’m sure all the players played their hardest during yesterday’s Super Bowl, but I don’t think there are many people who disagree that an awful lot of “luck” – if that’s what you want to call it -- was involved in the Ravens’ win. After the game we heard practically all of the coaches and players repeatedly giving thanks to their higher powers for helping them succeed.
What I didn’t hear mentioned was the mystical, Mercurial aspect of the symbolic Raven. And now that the game is over, we can see this magical totem was on our side, too. That’s the problem with the raven as a magical symbol. At heart, it’s a trickster, and you can never be entirely sure of its motives.
Many cultures (North American, Celtic) see the raven as a shapeshifter and link it to prophecy and the creation of the world. After the Super Bowl win, however, I’m more interested in the raven’s association with change.

Speaking as a decades-long Tolkien junkie, my review of any dramatization of his works is going to be biased. Nor can I come to this review of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” as a film critic who would try to evaluate a film adaptation purely on its cinematic qualities. Because of the dozens of times I have read these tomes, I will constantly analyze any Tolkien dramatization for every detail of how it differs from the original.

For almost thirty years now, Hieronimus & Co in its various radio broadcasts, television, print, online, and other public forums has addressed the increasing weather extremes as a result of global warming. This discussion began in earnest in 1985 among scientists and only now is it becoming self evident with the October surprise of Hurricane Sandy, not to mention the severe droughts, floods, record temperatures world wide, and other anomalous weather patterns and their deleterious impacts on animals, nature and humans.
As the East Coast encounters this ‘frankenstorm’, I hope more citizens appreciate the lack luster environmental policies promoted by ex-Governor Romney and less than robust initiatives of the Congress and our President, Barack Obama, whom I voted for and will again. It is also possible to see that dividing citizens is not a progressive nor productive outcome of the current Presidential election or USA media and is the result of the outright corporate theft of what once was a prerogative of citizens. Candidates are now bought and sold by their underwriters rather than being chosen by the people they are obligated to serve. We all must hold Congress accountable for their perpetual failure regarding our earth’s well being.

Hieronimus’ “We the People” car offers a harmonious blend of symbols and people, including the first African American astronomer Benjamin Banneker, the Iroquois prophet Deganawida and the names of six Iroquois nations scrolled across the hood. It also features Thomas Jefferson and Jimi Hendrix doing his Woodstock rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner. “ Hieronimus describes this as a reminder “that America has a spiritual destiny.”

Unless the senate or a citizen’s army of farmers and consumers can stop them, the House of Representatives is likely to ram this dangerous rider through any day now.
A so-called ‘Monsanto rider,’ quietly slipped into the multi-billion dollar FY 2013 Agricultural Appropriations bill, would require – not just allow, but require – the Secretary of Agriculture to grant a temporary permit for the planting or cultivation of a genetically engineered crop, even if a federal court has ordered the planting be halted until an Environmental Impact Statement is completed. All the farmer or the biotech producer has to do is ask.

The Mysterious Professor or the Unknown Speaker

Throughout the 20th Century academic historians routinely dismissed the suggestion that Secret Societies like the Freemasons and Rosicrucians had an influence on the founding of America. As we move into the 21st Century, however, the acknowledgement of this fact has begun to appear even among mainstream scholars. While earlier historic doctrines required scholars to dismiss anything that was improvable with physical evidence, today it is now considered unreasonable to dismiss the reports of an event or influence simply for lack of hard documentation. In my study of humanistic psychology, I have also grown to appreciate that even if a reported event or influence did NOT occur as popularly believed, its myth or legend still has the power to bring into being something of much greater importance than what we believe to be true.
I can readily understand why the History Channel loves this story about the Mysterious Professor or Unknown Speaker. I wrote about him in both my books, Founding Fathers, Secret Societies, and United Symbolism of America. I kept the accounts short because there is no historical documentation to verify this person’s involvement in either the flag design or the signing of the Declaration of Independence. A rebirth for a sacred place on the Mohawk

Land sacred to the Peacemaker tradition of the Iroquois Indians has been returned to native hands for the first time in 300 years. The 110-acre parcel is on the north shore of the Mohawk River, astride the Cohoes Falls, just before it flows into the Hudson River, and includes 1,200 feet of water frontage extending north of the river for about half a mile. The land along the Cohoes Falls is back in native hands thanks to the vision of the late Mohawk Nation Chief Jake Swamp and the hard work of Greg Schaaf, director of the Center for Indigenous Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, N.M., and John Kim Bell, the Kahnawake Mohawk who founded the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards in Canada.

Prayer is powerful. Those who know this from personal experience use prayer for seeking guidance from G-d about their own lives, for healing themselves and others. One can use prayer to praise G-d for the miracle of life itself and the things we have to be grateful for. Many people like myself, pray to G-d for divine insight about the world and how to bring peace and harmony to everyone on earth.
I have never in my entire life received a message of hate from prayer nor heard a message of division. I have never while praying, received any instructions that involve intolerance, elimination of other people, or lack of understanding that souls have many ways to find Him, of finding that inner home of the heart which G-d Illuminates within each one of us.

On 11/11/11 there was an attempted assassination of President Obama by a young man named Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez. According to the news reports, Ortega believed Mr. Obama was “the devil” and had to be “taken care of”. He also was “obsessed with the date November 11, 2011.” I was sadly not surprised to read about this horrible attempt by a clearly disturbed individual, and I lay the blame squarely at the feet of the Dominionist preachers who advocate the elimination of politicians they consider “demonized”. I’m sure the leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation or the organizers of DC40 will not accept responsibility for this man’s actions, but they are the ones preaching violence against everyone they disagree with, calling them all “Satan” and the Antichrist. |

Anonymous Film Review by Dr. Bob Hieronimus
The wait is over! The new Roland Emmerich film, “Anonymous”, has opened in theaters and is bringing to the mainstream audience the question: “Was Shakespeare a Fraud?” It’s one of those questions that until you examine it closely sounds completely absurd. We are all so completely indoctrinated in school that to question the identity of the greatest writer in the English language is tantamount to blasphemy. On the other hand, those brave enough to examine this question closely quickly realize that the hard evidence available to disprove the man named William Shakespeare was the actual author of the works bearing his name, far outweighs any evidence used to prove he was the author…. “Anonymous” will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end, proposing that the real author was probably one of Queen Elizabeth’s illegitimate children named Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford. Jefferson was forever under attack because of his refusal to attend the church of the presidents. He was slandered as being an atheist during his political campaign, and the Federalists took advantage of this slur. Jefferson’s true religious beliefs were Christian in the broadest and truest sense of the word. Before retiring in the evening, Jefferson observed a daily ritual of reading something moral. For sixteen years he worked on compiling a volume he called The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, now known as The Jefferson Bible and more fully discussed in my 1975 and 1985 publications. He confided in few people about his studies, but in 1816 Jefferson wrote to Charles Thomson: “I too, have made a wee little book . . . which I call the philosophy of Jesus; it is a paradigm of his doctrines. . . . A more beautiful or precious morsel of ethics I have never seen; it is a document in proof that I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus.”

Dr. Bob first-ever inductee to The International Fortean Organization Hall of Fame
Dr. Bob Hieronimus was a presenter at the 56th Phenomenal Conference on Anomalous Phenomena sponsored by the International Fortean Organization’s Fortfest 2011 on May 14, 2011.
After showing his film called “Artist of Savitria” produced in 1971 by Maryland Public Television, Dr. Bob gave a brief talk entitled “The Apocalypse Is Not the End of the World”. Based in part on the “Apocalypse” mural featured in the film, Bob’s message is that history is cyclical: civilizations rise and fall across the eons of time. Whatever earth changes or calamities arise in 2012 or at any time before or after, the Earth will still be here long after the human race. “The Earth doesn’t need us,” he reminded us.
After his presentation, he was surprised to be awarded this certificate from Phyllis Benjamin, who told him he was the first inductee into their new Fortean Hall of Fame! As she told us in a follow-up Email: "We were honored to have you be the very first inductee in the Fortean Hall of Fame which includes John Michell, John Keel, Colin Wilson, Lyle Watson and Gerald Hawkins. Would we could clone you. I know you and Zohara's work will abide and will be a shining example to us all."

William Donald Schaefer was all about rebirth. And I don’t mean just what he famously did for the renaissance of the City of Baltimore. He had a deeply spiritual and almost mystical side to him that few would ever see. His vision for the future was as distant as his appreciation for the far distant past, and his underlying goals and motivations were towards a future of “one people, one planet.” His support for the Baltimore Sister City relationships with Alexandria and Luxor, Egypt brought forth memories of his possible previous lifetimes in Egypt, something he shared with me as only one of a handful who could appreciate such a statement. Who knows what he discovered in his consciousness when working on Baltimore’s other successful Sister City unions with places in the Ukraine, Greece, the Netherlands, and China. In 1969 artist Bob Hieronimus and a group of a dozen other young spiritual seekers moved into a rundown mansion in the Coldspring area of northwest Baltimore. They formed Savitria (“House of the Sun”) and the AUM Center, which was approved by the Maryland State Board of Education to offer certificates in religious metaphysics, occult science and mystic arts. Despite the admonition against getting involved in politics taught by the Western Mystery Tradition that was fostered at Savitria, Hieronimus couldn’t help but admire the President of the Baltimore City Council William Donald Schaefer when he sponsored the One Percent for Art clause in municipal building contracts. When he met Schaefer at a fundraiser and was asked to design a poster for his mayoral campaign, he agreed, despite the disapproval of the other leaders at Savitria. |

Recently, a new attempt has been made to debunk one of the most famous images of Bigfoot in the world. The Roger Patterson-Bob Gimlin film taken on October 20, 1967 in Bluff Creek California has been carefully analyzed for over 30 years, and this is just one of many attacks on its credibility by debunkers. Ironically, however, this latest attempt to call this film a hoax has earned little, five-foot-five ME, a footnote in Bigfoot history!!! Believe it or not, the man who has so-called "gone public" to say it was really him dressed up in a gorilla suit in this famous film, is named none other than "Bob Heironimus"! He spells it a little differently, but it's obviously causing a good deal of confusion out there, so here's my official statement on this case: That was NOT me!!! That's right, the "Bob Heironimus" claiming to be the man in the Bigfoot suit, is NOT the same "Bob Hieronimus" who has interviewed countless Bigfoot researchers about this very film and other cases on his 21st Century Radio(r) program! Ironic coincidence??? You decide. As unusual as my name is, I have been confused with at least three other Bob Hieronimi in this world, so this is not the first time I've been accused of doing something I had no knowledge of!

Dr. Bob visits the Keeper of the Great Seal of the U.S.A. in Washington D.C.Soon after the publication of Dr. Bob Hieronimus’s book, The United Symbolism of America, he enjoyed a private tour of the actual Great Seal press and the comprehensive and beautiful exhibit on the history of the Seal. Invited by Senior Curator, U.S. Diplomacy Center Dr. Priscilla Linn, to view the exhibit called “Celebrating the 225th Anniversary of the Great Seal of the United States: Past, Present and Future,” Dr. Bob was also specially treated to a demonstration of the Great Seal in action. Sharon Hardy, Chief of the Office of Presidential Appointments, Bureau of Human Resources, demonstrated the Seal press with an actual Presidential document, which she made official by imprinting on it the Great Seal of the United States. Ms. Hardy is the official custodian of the Great Seal, and each year, she and her staff imprint seals for between 2,000-3,000 documents, including presidential commissions, diplomatic envelopes, and treaties.

It won’t surprise some of you to learn that I have lived many lifetimes as a soldier, including my last lifetime during the American Revolution, when I paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in battle even before the Declaration of Independence was signed. This lifetime I was allowed to serve our beloved nation in the capacity of educator, artist, and author, and within these boundaries I am still motivated to serve every waking moment challenging the forces bent on destroying our Constitutional Republic.

He sent a copy of his book, Inside the Yellow Submarine: The Making of the Beatles Animated Classic, to Zemeckis with the suggestion that at the very least a private preview screening of the remake for the original co-creators would be one way to pay homage to their efforts.
